How to Enable JavaScript in Browser

Freestyle Roars requires the use JavaScript. JavaScript is used in a variety of ways to improve the website experience, such as validating and executing form submissions and allowing interactive content. In order for this "web site" to work as designed, you must enable JavaScript in your browser. To do so, please follow the instructions below for "enabling JavaScript" in the most popular web browsers. If you are using a web browser that is not listed, please consult its help resources for further instructions.

*To determine your browser version, click on "Help" in the menu bar of your browser and then select "About".

Enabling JavaScript

This page shows how to enable javascript in most popular computer platforms and browser combinations.

Platform: Windows - Browser: Internet Explorer (7.0, 8.0 & 9.0)

  1. Select 'Tools' from the top menu
  2. Choose 'Internet Options'
  3. Click on the 'Security' tab
  4. Select the 'Internet' zone
  5. Click on 'Custom Level'
  6. Scroll down until you see section labled 'Scripting of Java applets'
  7. Select 'Enable' and click OK
  8. Click 'Yes' in Warning dialog box

Platform: Windows - Browser: Internet Explorer (5, 5.5 & 6.0)

  1. Select 'Tools' from the top menu
  2. Choose 'Internet Options'
  3. Click on the 'Security' tab
  4. Click on 'Custom Level'
  5. Scroll down until you see section labled 'Scripting'
  6. Under 'Active Scripting', select 'Enable' and click OK

  1. Select 'Edit' from the top menu
  2. Choose 'Preferences'
  3. Choose 'Advanced'
  4. Choose 'Scripts & Plugins'
  5. Select the 'Enable JavaScript' checkbox and click OK

  1. Select 'Tools' from the top menu
  2. Choose 'Options'
  3. Choose 'Content' from the top navigation
  4. Select the checkbox next to 'Enable JavaScript' and click OK

Platform: Windows - Browser: Mozilla Firefox (1.0)

  1. Select 'Tools' from the top menu
  2. Choose 'Options'
  3. Choose 'Web Features' from the left navigation
  4. Select the checkbox next to 'Enable JavaScript' and click OK

Platform: Windows/Linux - Browser: Google Chrome

  1. Select 'Options' from the "Wrench" graphic icon menu on the upper/right side of the Google Chrome window.
    On Mac OS X: Select Preferences from the Chrome menu.
  2. Select the Under the Hood tab.
  3. Click the Content settings button underneath the Privacy area.
  4. Select the JavaScript tab.
  5. Select 'Allow all sites to run JavaScript (recommended)' option.
  6. Optionally: Click the Exceptions button to control which sites can or cannot use JavaScript.

Platform: Windows - Browser: Opera (9.6)

  1. Select 'Tools' from the menu bar and click on 'Preferences'
  2. Click on the 'Advanced' tab
  3. Choose 'Content' from the left navigation
  4. Select the checkbox next to 'Enable JavaScript' and click OK

Platform: Windows - Browser: Apple Safari (1.0)

  1. Select 'Safari' from the top menu (on Mac OS) or the Edit menu (on Windows)
  2. Choose 'Preferences'
  3. Choose 'Security'
  4. Select the checkbox next to 'Enable JavaScript' and click OK

Platform: Windows - Browser: AOL

  1. Select 'Settings'
  2. Select 'Preferences'
  3. Select 'Internet Properties'
  4. Select 'Custom Level'
  5. Scroll down the Custom Level screen to 'Scripting'
  6. Enable 'Active Scripting'
  7. Select 'Okay'
  8. Select 'Yes' that you want to change the security settings
  9. Select 'Okay'
  10. Close the Preference window
  11. Close this window and Click the Reload button in the browser's top menu bar

Platform: Macintosh - Browser: Internet Explorer 5.x

  1. Select 'Explorer' under OS X or 'Edit' under earlier OS's from the menu bar and click on 'Preferences'
  2. Click on triangle next to 'Web Browser' to open sub-menu if needed
  3. Under 'Active Content', click on checkbox next to 'Enable Scripting'
  4. Click the 'OK' button
  5. Close this window and Click the Refresh button in the browser's top menu bar

Platform: Macintosh - Browser: Netscape 7.x

  1. Select 'Netscape' under OS X or 'Edit' under earlier OS's from the menu bar and click on 'Preferences'
  2. Click on triangle next to 'Advanced' to open sub-menu if needed.
  3. Click on 'Scripts & Plugins'.
  4. Click on checkbox next to 'Navigator' under 'Enable JavaScript'
  5. Click the 'OK' button.
  6. Close this window and Click the Reload button in the browser's top menu bar

Platform: Macintosh - Browser: Safari

  1. Select 'Safari' from the menu bar and click on 'Preferences'
  2. Click on the 'Security' icon
  3. Click on checkbox next to 'Enable JavaScript'
  4. Close that window
  5. Close this window and Click the Reload button in the browser's top menu bar

Platform: Macintosh - Browser: Mozilla

  1. Select 'Mozilla' under OS X or 'Edit' under earlier OS's from the menu bar and click on 'Preferences'
  2. Click on triangle next to 'Advanced' to open sub-menu if needed
  3. Click on 'Scripts & Plugins'
  4. Click on checkbox next to 'Navigator' under 'Enable JavaScript for'
  5. Click the 'OK' button
  6. Close this window and Click the Reload button in the browser's top menu bar

Platform: Macintosh - Browser: AOL for Mac OS X

  1. Select 'AOL' from the menu bar and click on 'Preferences'
  2. Click on the www icon in the scrolling list on the left side
  3. Click on the 'Content' tab
  4. Click on checkbox next to 'Enable Javascript'
  5. Click the 'OK' button
  6. Close this window and Click the Reload button in the browser's top menu bar

Once finished, press the "Test JavaScript" button below to reload this page to test whether you were successful in changing your Javascript settings.

*Please keep in mind that upgrading your browser or installing new security software or security patches may affect your JavaScript settings. It is a good idea to double-check that JavaScript is still enabled after making any changes to your browser settings.

Notes: If you are still experiencing problems while viewing Freestyle Roars after ensuring that JavaScript is enabled in your browser, please verify if you have any personal firewall or security software installed that might be blocking JavaScript.
